About the project:
Design and fabrication of a low-cost prosthesis for an abused dog named Nim
In June 2016, a 7 month old dog named Nim was the victim of an animal abuse case in which her owner cut off her front two paws. While Nim can still use one of the two injured legs, she still has to walk on 3 legs.
After hearing about the incident, TOM volunteered to assist in the recovery process and a developer group in Tel Aviv was formed to build Nim a prosthetic leg. While a typical dog prosthesis can cost up to $1500, this project uses less than $50 worth of materials to make.
