About the project:
The user experience as a wheelchair user has not improved in years. While motorized wheelchairs have made it easy to get around the user is still rather limited in what the overall experience of getting from point A to point B has remained the same.
Use 20th century technology to improve the user experience and expand the capabilities by allowing smart phone apps to communicate and work with the wheelchair. This creates a limitless environment for users to create new apps or have existing apps control or provide input to make the experience while in a wheelchair better. An example is using WAZE (or waze-like app) to tell the user and the chair about accessible doorways, ramps, buildings or hazards.
